Fix problems when your resume won’t import

File types and size limits, parse errors, Retry parse, stuck processing, empty sections.

At a glance: If upload fails, check file type (PDF, Word, or TXT) and size (max 50 MB). If parsing fails, read the error message and try Retry parse. If parsing never finishes, refresh the page or upload again. You can always edit sections manually if the extractor missed a field.

Upload errors

  • “Missing file” — Pick a file again; the browser may have cleared the selection.

  • “Resume must be 50 MB or smaller” — Export a smaller PDF or remove large images from the document.

  • Storage or network errors — Try again on a stable connection. If it keeps failing, contact support with the message shown.

Parsing failed

When parsing doesn’t succeed, you’ll see a banner with a short reason when we have one. Use Retry parse to run the parser again on the last file you uploaded—useful after a temporary glitch.

If retry still fails, try exporting a simpler PDF (text-based rather than only scanned images) or upload a .docx version. You can still edit every section yourself so you’re not stuck on an empty page.

“No resume file on record” when retrying

Retry only works when a file is already stored for your account—usually after an upload from the Resume page or onboarding. If you never completed an upload, upload a file first.

Stuck on “processing”

The page polls while parsing runs. If it seems stuck, reload the Resume page. If status still looks wrong after several minutes, try uploading the file once more or use Retry after a completed upload.

Wrong or empty sections after a “successful” parse

Parsers infer structure from how the document is laid out. Bullets, columns, or unusual templates sometimes land in the wrong place. Open the section with the pencil, fix the text, and save—your corrections are what SeeVee uses going forward.
