The Demo workspace and your real data

Amber badge, /demo/ URLs, what's seeded vs real, why sends are sandboxed.

At a glance: The demo workspace is a sandboxed copy of SeeVee with seeded jobs, contacts, threads, and runs. It’s where guided tours run, and you can also explore it on your own. When you’re in demo, an amber Demo badge appears on the sidebar logo and clicking Apply, Send, or Reveal does nothing real—no emails go out, no credits are spent.

How to tell you’re in demo

Look at the sidebar logo. If you see a small amber Demo badge over it, you’re in the demo workspace. The URL also starts with /demo/—for example /demo/jobs instead of /jobs. Your real workspace is the default; you only end up in demo by starting a tour or following a demo link.

What’s real and what isn’t

  • Real: your account, settings, billing, plan, and anything you change under Settings. We don’t fork those for demo—they stay one set.

  • Seeded (demo only): jobs, applications, contacts, email threads, outreach plans, and runs. They look real but they’re sample data we generate to make the tours sensible.

  • Disabled in demo: sending real email, charging credits for reveal, submitting Auto‑Apply requests, and creating real outreach runs. Buttons still appear so the tour can highlight them; the actions are sandboxed.

Why we built it this way

Walking through outreach with your real inbox is risky—nobody wants to accidentally email a hiring manager during a tour. The demo workspace lets you try out flows, share screenshots, and explore the product without that fear.

Leaving demo and coming back

Click the SeeVee logo, any sidebar item (Jobs, Tasks, Applications, …), or close the tour to return to your real workspace—you’ll see the demo badge disappear. Re‑enter at any time from profile menu → Take a tour, or by navigating to /demo/jobs manually.

If you see demo data where you didn’t expect it

Check the URL and the sidebar badge. The most common confusion is following a tour link and forgetting to leave demo before coming back later—the URL still starts with /demo/. Clicking Jobs in the sidebar takes you back to real data.
