This guide covers common problems and how to resolve them so you can complete your interview smoothly.

Updated over 7 months ago

If you’re having trouble with your SeeVee interview, don’t worry, most issues can be fixed quickly. Review the issues below:

The Interview Won’t Start

If nothing is happening when you try to start the interview, run through these steps:

1. Check Your Audio Feed

  • Make sure your computer volume is turned up

  • Confirm that your audio output is not muted

2. Check Your Microphone

  • Confirm you’re using the correct input device

  • Check that your mic levels are active or moving

  • Make sure you’re in a quiet space with minimal background noise

3. Check Your Video Feed

  • Make sure the right camera is selected

  • If you’re using an external webcam, confirm it’s plugged in and detected

4. Check Your Internet Connection

  • Run a speed test if you’re unsure

  • If your connection is under 5 Mbps, you may experience performance issues

  • Try switching to a stronger Wi-Fi signal or a wired connection

The Interviewer Isn’t Responding

If the interviewer isn’t reacting or seems stuck:

1. Check Your Microphone

  • Confirm it’s set to the correct input

  • Speak normally and see if your mic is picking up sound

  • Try unplugging and reconnecting your mic if it’s external

2. Check for Background Noise

  • Loud background sounds can interfere with response detection

  • Move to a quieter area and eliminate noise sources (fans, TVs, music)

3. Check Your Speakers or Headphones

  • Make sure you’re using the right output device

  • Test playback to verify you can hear responses

The Interviewer Is Interrupting

If the interviewer keeps cutting you off mid-response:

1. Check for Background Noise

  • Noise like tapping, typing, or ambient sounds can trigger false cues

  • Make sure you’re in a low-noise space

2. Check Your Microphone

  • Make sure the mic is picking up clear and consistent input

  • Avoid sudden volume dips or silent pauses when speaking

3. Speak Louder and More Clearly

  • Low volume or mumbling can confuse the AI

  • Speak confidently and at a steady pace

The Interviewer Keeps Stopping

If the interview pauses or breaks up unexpectedly:

1. Check for Background Noise

  • Unexpected noises can trigger the AI to pause

  • Try to maintain a quiet and distraction-free setting

2. Check for Audio Feedback

  • If you’re using external speakers, sound may loop back through your mic

  • Use headphones to avoid feedback

3. Check Your Internet Connection

  • Weak connections can interrupt the experience

  • Aim for at least 5 Mbps upload and download speeds

  • Consider switching networks or using a wired connection
