What happens when Auto-Apply credits run out

Billing prompt swap, what still works, wait vs upgrade, in-flight requests, refunded credits.

At a glance: When your Auto‑Apply balance hits zero, the Auto‑Apply button on a job swaps for a billing prompt—nothing is charged silently. You can still apply yourself, generate tailored documents, and use everything else in SeeVee. Auto‑Apply credits reset at the start of each billing period; switching to a higher tier (or buying a top‑up if available) restores access immediately.

How you’ll know you’re out

Two places will tell you:

  • The plan usage block under your profile menu shows 0 left on the Auto‑Apply meter (red bar).

  • On a job slide-out, the Auto‑Apply button replaces its normal label with a billing prompt pointing at Settings → Subscription.

What still works

Running out of Auto‑Apply credits doesn’t touch anything else:

  • Apply Myself works as usual—we open the posting and mark the job applied.

  • Tailored resumes and cover letters still generate so you can apply yourself with the polished docs.

  • Reveal uses its own credit balance and continues independently.

  • Outreach and Tasks are unaffected.

Wait for reset, or upgrade

You have two options:

  • Wait for the reset. Auto‑Apply credits reset at the start of each billing period. The plan usage block shows when that will be.

  • Upgrade. A higher plan tier ships with a larger bundle of credits and gives you them immediately on upgrade (we prorate). Open Settings → Subscription.

In-flight requests

Requests already in Queued or In Progress when you hit zero will still finish—we hold the credit when a request is created. New requests won’t start.

Refunded credits

If a request comes back as Position Closed, Could Not Apply, or Cancelled, the credit is returned to your balance. That might be enough to start one more request without changing plans.
